Jon Wong

Mr. Wong brings deep expertise in systems engineering from the aerospace and defense industry, with experience spanning concept development, requirements definition, system modeling, integration, and program planning. He specializes in defining system architectures, decomposing functions, and modeling subsystem interactions to solve complex problems. As a visiting lecturer at Cornell University, he teaches the graduate-level course in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), sharing industry experience and reinforcing key systems engineering topic areas for the next generation of systems engineers.

Prior to joining Exponent, Mr. Wong supported the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense program at Lockheed Martin, where he led integration and testing efforts. He was responsible for verification and validation of system functions and led test campaigns for new capabilities, endurance, stress, and ground testing, which eventually led to flight tests. He also managed control accounts for the Navy, providing earned value management and reporting throughout the program lifecycle.

At Boeing, Mr. Wong served as a systems engineer on the U.S. Army's Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program. There, he applied MBSE using System Modeling Language (SysML) to define system requirements and architecture to support the program's transition from concept to development. His modeling work enhanced traceability between the customer's needs and artifacts, clarified design intent, and enabled early validation of system behavior. He later contributed to enterprise-wide initiatives to strengthen the integration of systems and software engineering across lifecycles and business units, improving technical alignment and delivery efficiency.
