Construction advisory and capital program governance expert joins our Construction Consulting practice in Oakland
Exponent is pleased to welcome Krupal Bhatt, M.S., to our Construction Consulting practice as a senior manager. Mr. Bhatt advises owners and operators of capital‑intensive infrastructure portfolios on construction advisory, capital program governance, and enterprise project delivery. His work focuses on improving portfolio and program management, project controls, operating model design, and the integration of business processes with fit‑for‑purpose technologies.
Mr. Bhatt works closely with executive leadership teams to enhance the predictability, transparency, and performance of complex capital programs. He is frequently engaged to assess organizational maturity, diagnose systemic delivery risks, and design governance and control frameworks that align strategic objectives with day‑to‑day execution. His approach emphasizes clear decision‑making roles, consistent management routines, and reliable data systems that support executive oversight and regulatory review.
Mr. Bhatt's experience centers on modernizing capital programs planning, management, and reporting. He has led initiatives to integrate portfolio governance, cost and schedule controls, procurement workflows, risk management, and financial reporting into cohesive delivery environments. These efforts have helped clients replace fragmented, manual practices with scalable systems of record that improve forecasting accuracy, compliance reporting, and enterprise‑wide visibility.
Mr. Bhatt has supported organizations through periods of rapid growth, regulatory change, and organizational transformation, including global standardization efforts, large‑scale portfolio expansions, and post‑merger integrations. He has advised on programs subject to heightened regulatory and public scrutiny, such as utility systems, hyperscale data center development, energy transition infrastructure, environmental remediation, and asset retirement obligations, where rigor, traceability, and accountability are essential.
Before joining Exponent, Mr. Bhatt served as a senior manager in the Capital Projects & Infrastructure practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he advised executive leadership to design and operationalize enterprise‑scale capital delivery models. In this role, he focused on integrating business operations, governance structures, and enabling technologies to improve portfolio performance and long‑term asset outcomes. Earlier in his career, he worked as a project engineer and estimator for Cadence McShane Construction, supporting complex construction programs and building a rigorous understanding of cost, schedule, and delivery risk that continues to inform his executive‑level advisory work. Mr. Bhatt has also served as a visiting (honorary) lecturer in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University.
Mr. Bhatt earned a Master of Science degree in construction management from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in civil engineering from Gujarat Technological University.
