Dr. Kristin Krome has more than 15 years of scientific and regulatory experience with plant protection products. Due to her multifunctional roles in GLP laboratories, research organizations and industry she has a comprehensive understanding of the crop protection market and industry, ranging from product development to sales, with a focus on EU scientific and regulatory requirements and processes.
Prior to joining Exponent, Dr. Krome held the position Director Regulatory Affairs Europe as well as Director Global Science in the Crop Protection Unit at HELM AG. In this role she was responsible for the scientific and regulatory strategy for all European (EU 27 + UK) active substances, products and biostimulants. This included the preparation and submission of the dossiers at national and EU level, commissioning and monitoring new studies, and dealing with all related scientific and regulatory issues. She was closely involved in interactions with all other areas of the crop protection and biostimulant business in order to gain market access as efficiently as possible. Thus, in addition to regulatory support she, for example, also offers support for strategic regulatory decisions, due diligence processes and registration transfers. Dr. Krome works with cross-functional teams to resolve scientific and regulatory queries.
Before starting her managing roles, Dr. Krome worked as an ecotoxicologist (GLP study director, study monitoring, risk assessments) for a GLP lab, a research organization and industry. At the Fraunhofer ITEM she was responsible for the environmental risk assessments of veterinary and human pharmaceuticals. Based on her experience, she still provides scientific advice in the technical and regulatory area of ecotoxicology for pesticides and pharmaceuticals.
