Amir Jokar Named ASHRAE Fellow

Exponent thermal sciences consultant recognized by scientific peers and leading international organization in the field of HVAC&R 

Exponent's Amir Jokar, Ph.D., P.E., has been honored as a Fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), one of the most prestigious recognitions in the HVAC&R profession. This distinction — a major career milestone —  is awarded to members who have made substantial contributions to the field, including education, research, engineering design, consultation, publications, presentations, and mentoring. Being named a fellow reflects Dr. Jokar's dedication to excellence, his influence on HVAC&R technology and practice worldwide, and his lasting impact on both ASHRAE and the built environment.

Dr. Jokar has been an active member of ASHRAE for the past 25 years and brings a wealth of expertise across both academia and industry. In academia, he served as principal investigator on numerous research projects, and he developed several courses and labs on thermo/fluids. At Exponent, he has helped clients solve complex challenges involving air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including low global warming potential (GWP) flammable refrigerants, data center cooling and ventilation, geothermal HVAC systems, and food facility ammonia systems. His experience encompasses odor issues in automotive and residential cooling systems, compressor failures, and optimizing a wide variety of commercial and industrial refrigeration and cooling solutions.

Recognition as an ASHRAE Fellow celebrates his significant achievements and ongoing contributions to building performance, sustainability, and the future of the industry.
