"Electric Vehicle Battery Safety and Compliance: Fatigue Analysis & Design - Part 1 (Session Code M200) Track"

TUESDAY, APRIL 18 | 4:00 P.M. (edt)

Though few industry standards for EV battery safety compliance testing exist across original equipment manufacturers, EV batteries must be designed with an in-built safety infrastructure for realistic abuse scenarios such as fire exposure, mechanical vibration, collisions, over-charging, single cell failures, and others. Learn about various EV battery failure mechanisms, current safety and abuse testing methods and standards, and the need for developing and implementing additional testing standards to better characterize the safety performance of EV battery packs.

Exponent speakers: Sneha Lele, Ph.D., P.E., Managing Engineer, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science; Kyle Murray, Ph.D., Senior Scientist, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science
