Dr. Kiley is a cognitive psychologist whose experience includes the creation and analysis of various survey instruments and questionnaires to obtain both qualitative and quantitative data, as well as the selection and recruitment for those. In the past year, he has worked on numerous projects that all require diverse methods of data collection.

Dr. Kiley's quantitative data collection efforts include neurophysiological data recording, surface level EMG response, hand-eye coordination, and eye tracking. His qualitative data collection efforts range from in-depth one-on-one interviews to remote online surveys that require participants to complete them long after the study proper has concluded. He has applied his wide-ranging knowledge of user experience research methodology to projects involving virtual reality devices, augmented reality devices, wearable technology, and online social media behavior. To analyze these data, Dr. Kiley utilizes both descriptive and inferential statistics by way of t-tests, analysis of variance, multiple regression, survival analysis, principal component analysis, and principal component regression.

Dr. Kiley received an M.A. and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His work in university focused on human memory systems, and his dissertation explored the retention of information and memory updating procedures in healthy adults. These studies required retaining many participants over a period of a week or more in a situation where losing a single data point for any given participant would render that participant's data useless.
