With over a decade of experience, Mr. Corbin has worked on many phases and aspects of the construction industry across a wide range of projects. His project management experience includes overseeing engineering, permitting and constructability issues from proposal phase to project completion. His project controls skills include schedule maintenance and oversight, construction accounting and forecasting, estimating, and change order management. Working with important clients in the infrastructure and commercial markets, he has developed collaborative working relationships.
Spending much of his career at Clark Construction, Mr. Corbin has managed multi-disciplinary teams on challenging design-build contracts. He led the project team to adapt to the changing client needs and create efficient practices for managing high volumes of contract changes, design documentation and complicated permitting processes. His adept ability managing contract disputes and providing schedule and financial oversight pushed his career at Clark, a top-10 general contractor in the US.
Beginning at the field level, he learned to manage construction crews to accomplish work on schedule and under budget. With a background in engineering and an understanding of contract management, he helped resolve multiple potential change orders prior to construction. From the management position, his understanding of field work enables him to advise the construction teams on project controls and contract management.
From construction crews to directors, Mr. Corbin has successfully coordinated efficient teams, achieved productive results, and established long-term work relationships.
Electric Utility Work – Mr. Corbin currently leads several electrical utility relocation projects. He manages the financial forecasting and reporting, the schedule updates and the process and progress flow. He is also assisting with company-wide process improvements for the utility company by ensuring timely completion of activities and providing a conduit for information for all stakeholders.
Project Controls Services – Starting early in his career with document control, Mr. Corbin has been working in project controls for eight years. He has maintained the schedule on several large construction projects with input and oversight on many others. He has provided detailed accounting, including change order management, on projects in many sectors of the construction industry. His excellent project awareness and insight help understand variances at the micro and macro levels.
Government Contracts Management – Experienced with government contracts management, Mr. Corbin reported on certified payroll, quality control issues and schedule and cost issues while maintaining strict adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations. Detailed project controls plans and good accounting practices were vital to maintaining government compliance.
Preconstruction Services - Mr. Corbin provided design analysis including constructability reviews, budget analysis and quantity take offs for a large corporation. He created and updated early estimates for several projects. Precon services were administered on amusement park, healthcare, office building and airport commercial construction projects.
Project Management – Mr. Corbin led submittal review and processing, manufacturer tracking and production tracking, prepared monthly owner and subcontractor payment requisitions, compiled detailed cost reports for internal upper management and led resolution of all project related cost disputes for a large expansion project.
Quality Control - Mr. Corbin gained experience with concrete quality control while doing reinforcing steel inspections and concrete pour reviews for a bridge project. He also completed after cast inspection reports including detailed surveying and integrity review. While managing subcontractors on a new hospital project, he oversaw a full cycle quality control program to ensure a sterile and high performance final product.
Design-Build Process Management - Mr. Corbin assisted with design team schedule management and design assist subcontractor oversight and coordination for a large hospital project as well as a mid-sized correctional facility expansion. He led collaborative value engineering efforts with internal and government teams and created schedules and logistics plans to maintain crew flow and efficiency.
Conflict Resolution - Mr. Corbin assumed responsibility for troubled projects and led project teams to on-time substantial completion with approving clients. He completed the negotiation of all final settlements and the accounting for all final payments. Mr. Corbin led pricing and proposal reviews with owner's development team and finalized deals with subcontractor's company officers.
