The officially supported EMMA software reduces MACRO 5 simulation times by up to 90% for pesticide applicants
In its July Pesticides eBulletin, the U.K.'s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) announced the publication of an innovative software tool developed by Exponent environmental modelling experts Denis Weber, Dr. rer. nat., and Michael Brauer, in Basel, Switzerland, in close collaboration with the HSE's Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD).
EMMA (Enhanced MACRO 5 Multithreading Automation) is part of a suite of software tools organizations use when applying for pesticide registration in Great Britian or Northern Ireland.
EMMA enables multithreading of the UK's mandatory pesticide registration model MACRO 5, achieving a reduction in simulation time by as much as 90%. The extremely complex and robust MACRO 5 model previously only ran in single thread processing mode and was unable to take advantage of today's fast multithread central processing units (CPUs). Adding multithread support drastically improves simulation times, allowing users to run multiple simulations faster than ever. This not only streamlines internal workflows but also elevates efficiency across the pesticide industry.
EMMA is now a part of their official download package on their website. With this milestone, Exponent reinforces its position at the forefront of regulatory modelling innovation.
