New Principal Hire & Practice Director Expands Exponent's Health Sciences Leadership

Toxicologist Janet Anderson, Ph.D., DABT, joins Exponent's Austin office

With over 15 years of experience providing toxicology consulting to industry clients, federal agencies, and municipalities, Janet Anderson, Ph.D., DABT, brings extensive expertise in human health toxicology, risk assessment, and chemical stewardship to Exponent's health sciences capabilities.

Dr. Anderson has held positions of increasing responsibility in privately held health and environmental consulting firms, including as a member of leadership teams and the board of directors. She helps clients with chemical risk management, site-specific risk assessments, public policy analysis, regulatory compliance, and improving corporate environmental and public health stewardship. With a comprehensive background in evaluating emerging and legacy chemicals' toxic properties, Dr. Anderson helps companies utilize scientifically informed processes in their decision making. 

Dr. Anderson has extensive experience developing corporate risk management strategies for emerging and legacy chemicals, as well as providing clients with due diligence support concerning potential liability across the full lifecycle of product manufacturing, use, and disposal. Her expertise includes conducting site-specific risk assessments, including for CERCLA sites, and she provides litigation consulting support related to these types of analyses. She has served as an expert witness on topics including toxicology, regulatory requirements, and public health standards. Dr. Anderson is an ongoing contributor to science policy as a member of the Society of Toxicology's Risk Assessment Specialty Section and its Women in Toxicology Special Interest Group and as a member of the Water and Health Advisory Council.
